There is no apparent reason for it not to work, but it won't! It is not a problem with my Telstra 3G account, because if I put the SIM in another handset data operation is fine, so whatever the problem is, it is specific to my Atrix handset. It was purchased as a replacement for a Motorola Defy which was lost, and was an unbranded Telstra 3G compatible handset.
I am not sure, but I am wondering whether a recent upgrade to Android 2.3.4 may have caused the problem. At the time, I assumed the upgrade had come through Telstra, but as there are several Bell apps on the phone, I am suspicious that this upgrade could have been sent from the US. and may be causing the problem.
