And only every third one at that :p
But many swear by them.
It is one of those brands that seems to get a lot of loyal customers....

Hmm, previous to this rescheduling interniode person did say they had checked to see if I couldf get the service and yes all A-OK from that point of view, but that it would need to be done as a new connection as there hadn;t been one there before. I demurred, saying that in fact the previous owners had just left, and cancelled their Telsta ADSL connection a week earkier. I hope they haven;t screwed that up as well.....
Thats odd,
If you've got a handset I'd connect it to the wall and dial 12722123 If it was a telstra land line as your comment suggests it should give you the number off that line. Internode should then be able to use this old number to locate the inplace for that address.
In terms of the checks they would have done it is quite likely they just checked the area to make sure it had available ports and said yes. Its not until someone goes to provision the order that lines are checked.
Have been with westnet for over 5 years now.
Every time I ring there tech section its always an aussie on the other end and if there's a cue, they even ring you back within 1/2 hour.
Didnt know they were sold to iinet, but I'll stay with them for now.
When they start giving me the blues I'll change. lol

They did some "initial" checks which are the ones you maybe referring to.
They then conducted some additional checks, confirmed they would definitely be able to instal for me, and then charged my card etc.
I beleive that I will get it put on... it's just a matter of when.
That number you said to dial, does that trick work without a dial tone?
Yeah the number requires a dialtone.
If you don't have a dialtone my guess is the Telstra line was disconnected some time ago or was possibly not a Telstra line(Optus/Primus) to begin with.
From experience Telstra will typically leave a line as is with a dialtone unless they are really short of lines in the area
my guess is they've seen the inplace connection tried to submit it on this and given you the date of the 24th, Telstras then turned around and said sorry that inplace isn't actually available you need a new line which will take another week.
Do you know if they have changed the costs at all because new lines are expensive so I'd definitely be double checking the figures they quote you now the dates changed and they are saying a new line is required.
Makes sense.
Nothing to indicate costs have changed at all.
This is very unfortunate but please dont be put off by initial dealings with Internode
I have been an Internode customer for over 10 years now and have never had any problems apart from when I went naked and that was 100% Telatra's fault
Stay away from TPG because you must wave all rights to a service level agreement otherwise they will not sign you up.
Also TPG monitor your dowloads, so if you like to down load TV shows and movies they will warn you once then suspend your account and report you to the federal police
if it sound too good to be true...
