Laptop quick question - please help!
I have a laptop I have been given, it is an older model but it is in nice condition so worth saving. Currently it is set up with windows 7 in some sort of network login type setup, so when you power up it wants you to log in to a username on a network, which of course is not there. I can't get into the computer itself at all. Does anyone know if there is a quick way to change this setup to be able to use the laptop or does it require reinstalling the operating system? I would rather not do this if it can be avoided since windows 7 was not the otriginal system, I do not have the install discs for xp and to cap it all off, the partition with the recovery on it has been wiped when 7 was put on.
Unless anyone has a toshiba tecra m5 recovery disc for xp lying around?

There's a computer specialist on this forum, I think he runs the place, called Dave? You could take the laptop to his shop. I be he could do something if you offered cash...

ok, if you don't have access to the domain the computer is attached to, you'll need to know a local account. if you don't know what the local account is, there are 2 choices...
1. wipe and rebuild
2. hack
2. is not that hard these days with a wide range of ready made tools available on the internet such as:
Ophcrack
good luck
