    HELP!! Computer run amok

My Toshiba Satelite laptop shut down in standby mode with the on off switch slowly flashing. I don't know how to wake it up. I have tried all I know but it just sits there defying me. Help!!!

it may need to have the battery removed and the power unplugged.

Hold the power button in for 30 seconds and it should go into force shutdown.

Usually just holding the power button down for while will cause it to shutdown completely.

My toshiba satellite laptop does that when the battery is flat. Try plugging it in to the charger!

    thats a windows problem...

    from memory...

if you're low on battery, and you put it in standby and the battery % drops below the % set for the thing to go to hybernate or save to drive and shutdown mode while its going into standby it will stay in standby until the battery goes completely flat and not put it into charge mode until the battery is completely flat.

My solution was to set the standby battery percentage to below the hibernate or save to drive and shutdown battery %.
