The new Macbook pro with retina display

The new MacBook looks very impressive and with nice specs.
I am looking forward to read the reviews in the photography forums about the new retina display and post processing with PS.

Having been without a desktop for a little less than two months waiting for a new iMac I was rather underwelmed by the announcements yesterday. I really was wanting a new iMac but the "new" model doesn't offer anything over the old one (except my old one is dead )

The 15" MBP with retina display is something I'm seriously considering though. Coupled with a 27" thunderbolt display it may be a better alternative. Weight is the same as my 13" MBP but it is almost 4cm wider 1GB on the GPU, USB3+thunderbolt gives high speed access to accessories...

... like you I will be following this on the tog forums

All released by a company that can't produce something better than ITunes

One thing that I like about the Macpro laptops is that they do not overheat like the Windows based laptops.
I would like to have a laptop to do my photography PP without be concerned in the life of the HDD due to high temperature.
The new Apple is overpriced compared with the other Windows based laptops and it will be hard to considering the expense of an additional $ 1000 if the new type of display on it is not far superior to the old one.

My experience (with decent Wintel HW) is the opposite. Apples generally run hotter on the lap.

    Cant wait to get one.
A sized up Iphone screen will be great coupled with SSD you are on a winner for sure.
One reason to buy MAC the resale on a 2-3 year old MBP is pretty damn good compared to a PC laptop, reliability is outstanding in my experience with all MAC desktops and laps.

Agree with previous, Cinema display is a good way to go with a MBP.
