VET, CA, Total Defense Anti-Virus software

OK, I have now given up.
After sticking with the original Aussie Ant-Virus package through the purchase by Computer Associates and then into 'Total Defense' I have now been frustrated into giving up.

Last year much grief with licence renewal as their systems are crap.
This year beyond hopeless and obviously a significant probably as getting to any form of customer support is now virtually impossible.
In addition I am yet to find any of the 'contact us' phone numbers go anywhere rather than around and around to the same messages and including phone numbers that aren't connected.

My advice, if you have a current licence for any Total Defence (CA, ETrust, VET etc) software product: give up now.
Plan what you are moving to and unistall before your licence runs out. It is much less stress than trying to renew.
As a bonus, your home PC will probably reward you by running a little faster and in particular on startup.

BTW the installer probably won't work if you have used earlier versions and upgraded on the 2010 or 2011 products.
If you search around you will find install details and can get rid of what has become useless bloatware.

anything owned by symantec is rubbish with in 12 months of them buying it. AV you are better off with Kaspersky.

there is no product that does it all but kaspersky is about as close as it gets at the moment... and that can change very quickly.

    MSE is not far behind

no fan of nod32, very over rated imho

You are a stayer. I was responsible for five licences. I gave up on them years ago.
A pity really, when it was an Australian company (before CA), it was one of the best antivirus packages about.

Customer service and contactability are the two most important things I look for. If they're good, I am a loyal customer.
