    MacBooh or Vaio?

    Well, after evaluate performance my familiarity with software and also software on hand I bought a Sony Vaio SVE14A16FGH with 8mb of ram (1600 MT/s), Intel® Core™ i7-3612QM Processor 2.10 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.10 GHz, HDD: 750 GB (Serial ATA, 5400 rpm), AMD Radeon™ HD 7670M / Intel® HD Graphics 4000,Dedicated Video Memory 1 GB DDR among other specs.
    The machine have impressive graphics and using my external monitor will be much better than my old desktop PC.
    At the beginning I was going to get the 15" but the 14"have better graphics and longer battery life.
    Now @ the Sony Centre it is available with some extras that come handy like the keyboard membrane to keep the coffee out of the keys

    The quality of the machine is impressive and the specs IMO are better that the Apple for the same money.

    8mb or RAM it will run like a dog

    Why? it will be better than my PC with 4 mb and running XP.
    It is only for Photoshop and NX2.

    But yes, needs 8Gb ram to run nice on Win7..

    I'm drooling after this (hopefully next week):

    I was considering the new Mac Pro but the price is far to high and on the top of that I will need to get all new software for it.
    My next tool will be a good monitor and calibration hardware for PP my images so they will be ready for the lab
    At the present time I am using a Samsung NB9 19" super cheap but excellent regarding colors and contrast.
    The lab with an over $2000 monitor do not need to do much adjustments on my tif files

    Stop drooling... I just ordered one today (and a thunderbolt display) Will let you know what it's like when it arrives.

    Chucaro - I have had a Sony Valo for several years. It came with Vista and that made me buy my first iMac. That said, the Valo has proven a pretty solid machine. The battery has now died and won't hold a charge, but overall I think you will be very happy with your purchase.
