Can you swap it for an iphone5?
after the loss of my much relied upon iphone 4 on the weekend due to my own stupidity i trundled up to the local telstra shop to get a replacement.
all i wanted was an iphone 4s not a flash new iphone 5
sorry sir, no stock for about a month...
give me a break! (not that any seem to be due)
rang a dozen different stores same answer....
have to settle for something else it seems.
short version of a long story is i walked out the door with a samsung galaxy S3
hmmmmmm
made for an interesting afternoon
i hate itunes with a passion
i now hate kies with an even bigger passion!
what an utter piece of garbage, that is if if you can get it to run for more than 10 minutes!
on the mac it crucified the operating system so had to boot in safe mode and remove it.
on windows 7 64bit it took 3 goes to get a stable install that would run and talk to the phone to the point i could do a backup of it..
the phone itself seems okay and i manged to find the griffin protector cases in the US and ordered one.
there are a few apps i need to run that exist on both the iphone and android like logmein ignition etc
went to go buy it and install it but borked when i started reading reviews on the product
lots of "i used this app on my iphone and it worked flawlessly. the android version is woefully flawed unreliable and next to useless in comparison"
hmmmmmmmmmmm happened with the 3 main apps i used
trepidation.....
what management software are people using with this phone?

I had a similar experience with a Galaxy s2.
It had an impressive processor capacity superior to the 4S. However I never got it to sync. Apple has successfully indoctrinated me. I couldn't get used to the android system.
After 2 mths I sold it on eBay and bought a 4S.

Inc,
Kies is a PITA to say the least.
But, when you do get it running, it is good. I have less problems using Kies Air, which connects wirelessly...
I used to use Log Me In, but have moved over to Teamviewer. Very stable, and works well for what I need.
Btw - I have never paid for an app. I use the free versions.
I am currently going thru different browsers for the phone. Depending on what you want / need, Chrome seems to be the one. If you use it on the pc as well, it can import all of your bookmarks, and will keep the 2 sync'd.
Doing all of this on the Galaxy S2, but will get the S3 as soon as I can.
You do get a cooling off period, not sure how long it is, but you may be able to return it and at least put your name down for another iPhone.
A few years ago I returned a phone to Telstra shop after two days and exchanged it for another make.
nothing wrong with the phone per see just the supporting software is utterly atrocious and certainly nothing approaching business class.
anyone that says android phone packages are as capable as the apple package obviously doesn't use one for much as they are worlds apart still.
see how i get on over the next day or so...

Why do you need management software? I don't understand why it needs software on a computer to work, seems like an Apple thing maybe? With mine everything is stored with Google or elsewhere and my phone syncs with it. Even works this way with my corporate exchange account.
With android you just put in your Google account details everything gets pushed to your phone. Apps, contacts, email etc.
cause the computer in the office is where the contacts and appointments are managed, added , modified and deleted etc and it can all be done either onsite by myself or in the office by the staff.
some people use outlook or apple mail and ical to do what needs doing and internet access isnt always available when info needs to be synced.
gmail is good but the interface is woeful and quite limited when it comes to many things.
the whole package is certainly not in the same class as the apple package
you can go the google route with apple stuff as well but it is clumsy compared to it.

I agree gmail is not suitable for business. I use gmail for personal and exchange for work.
What are you using for work? If it's Apple then you have to stick to their hardware. If it's MS then android and Apple should work fine.
With android if someone sends me a calendar invite through exchange it shows in my phone calendar. No cables at all. I can even search the corporate directory from android.
Even then why not use Google apps for business? Free for limited users. You can use whatever mail app you want and have syncing across windows android and apple devices.
Cables to sync is very 90s.
