I thought you might have been referring to MSY.

MSY Technology penalised $203,500 for false and misleading consumer warranty representations

But is seems HP are up to the same tricks.

I personally have had issues with warranty claims with MSY in the past. Hope the ACCC can do better than a ~$200,000 fine for HP.

This is good. All retailers competing on the same common ground is good for the consumer.

I just worry that it makes doing business in Australia more expensive. Just sell to us from outside Australia and undercut local retailers while flaunting local consumer law. It only affects 1% so who cares???

If you want a lesson in how to be totally pathetic at customer relations go buy something at MSY. They will never answer their phones, when you ask for advice its as if you have poked them in the eye with a sharp stick. In every one of their stores (In Vic) I get the same treatment, they couldn't give a toss. They are cheaper by a few dollars but I don't buy there anymore, I prefer to be treated like a person and don't mind paying a little extra for good service and a friendly chat.

If you think of MSY as a warehouse the public can buy from directly then you won't be disappointed.
If you want advice then go during a slow period which is essentially outside of weekends and lunch hours.

Easiest thing to do is as the guide says. Get the price list and hit up google until you know what you want exactly.
