Connect Tv to computer What do I need?
believe it or not we have three kids aged under 5 and not one flat screen in the house. I would like to connect the computer to the tv to receive video and audio. This has to be done via RCA's at the moment. If I use a media player through wi-fi I assume this eats into my data plan? Can I record on a media player? and can you use them to surf the net?

If you have wifi, one of these will do it WD TV Live. This won't eat into your internet data plan, as you're only sending data from your PC to the WDTV via your own wifi network.

I have used Xbox's and PS3's to play content from the PC. If you have an Xbox360 and Windows 7 then all you need is a either wifi or an ethernet cable to your router.
You will need to convert the media to a compatible format for the Xbox or use some DLNA software that does transcoding.
If you want to connect directly via RCA then you will need either a composite output on your video card or an adapter, something like this if your video card supports it:
