Gary, the only way I know to do that now is do a search, then when the results come up, restrict the next search to just Australian pages with the tool menu down the LHS.
When searching with Google there is to be an option menu on the left hand side of the screen that allowed you to search just Aust if you wanted. That option is now gone - anyone know how I can just search Aussie sites.
I have sent a message to Google a few days ago but have not got any response.
Thanks
Garry

Add "site:au" to the end of the search term.
ie instead of

If you use the localised version of google www.google.com.au instead of the international version www.google.com you should still will see the 'Pages From Australia' on the left when you type text into the search box.
That's how it works for me.

Beats me, google comes up like normal from the firefox toolbar in the Australian site, with "pages from Australia" as an option. Have you been clearing cookies? My location is listed (Adelaide SA) with "change location" under that.
Ah, I'm not crazy then.
Just to top it off. When I search by tying the search terms into the URL bar of the browser (I use seamonkey, probably the same in firefox also) I get google opening with the 'advanced search' features accessible from a little 'gear cog' icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
When you directly open google, either the international or localised version, that little 'gear cog' icon does not show, instead there is window badgering you to install Chrome in that upper right hand corner. There seems to be no way of getting to the advance search features in this case.

Adding "site:" at the end of the search term can be used in another way too.
Type
nissan hand grenade site:aulro.com
to see what AULROVIANs have had to say on the subject.
Some people say it is more productive to do your searches on this forum using that method rather than the built in search function.
