    Firefox on laptop

I have just installed firefox on my laptop running Windows 7. I run the same setup on my big computer without this problem. On my laptop when I open Firefox the program opens two windows, one to my normal home page and one behind it to Firefox home page. I have checked all settings against my main computer but the problem still exists. Every time you click the home button the main page goes back to my normal page but the Firefox home page opens a second page until I have half a dozen pages opened behind my normal front page. It is a pain in the fingers closing all these unwanted pages. How do I stop this? Jim

Does the homepage you are trying to use have a pipe (|) somewhere in the address?? Firefox lets you specify more than one site as your home page by separating each address with a pipe character, and if the URL you are using as your homepage contains a pipe, it'll start churning out multiple tabs when you hit the "home" button...

I have the same set up than you (Win7 on a LT) and on Tools/Options/Advance/Accessibility, I selected "Warm me when websites try to redirect or upload a page"

When browsing, under the menu bar a message will come: "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" and at the far right a bottom will be there to Allow it as an option.

OK Checked both of the above and problem still exists. Every time I hit the home button it opens a new window underneath the home page I run. I end Up with a stack of new pages which are not wanted.

Have you tried resettign Firefox to its default settings??

On the menu bar, click the Help menu and select Troubleshooting Information. Click the Reset Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page and follow the instructions. See if the problem still arises.
