you should be able to, once the case is apart, most of the laptop screens i have seen have been held on with 2 screws and a ribbon cable needs to be disconnected also

or if you aren't keen to pull it apart, you could use it with the screen folded down and buy a usb keyboard and mouse kit to use instead of the built in ones

It's somewhere between quite easy and bloody difficult, depending on the model. (I used to make a living out of it).

Why don't you look into getting the screen replaced? If it's a less recent model, then there will be second hand parts available quite cheaply.

No need to remove the laptop screen. Set it up so that it doesn't power off when the lid is closed and get yourself a wireless keyboard and mouse, that's what I do with my laptop when I have it downstairs and supposed to be working on my RRC, mainly because it stops all the dust and dirt getting into the laptop.

Also bear in mind that some laptops will have a fit if you disconnect the laptop screen on startup as it can't detect the device, and in addition, quite often the wifi antenna runs around the back of the laptop screen. No screen section, no wifi....
