Just remembered I had paypal crash on me in January. I hit the "forgotten your password?" button and reset my password. Been fine since. Maybe they got hacked and are keeping it quiet?
I have 3 computers. One old laptop running XP. A second new laptop running Windows 7, and a new desktop running Windows 8. I cannot connect to paypal from any of these computers. What is going on as I need this connection urgently. What can block 3 computers which until yesterday or the day before had no problem with paypal. I can access anywhere else just not paypal. Could my wireless router cause this? If so, how? Jim![]()

I was told you have to uninstall Defender to be able to have Microsoft Security Essentials work properly - apparently there are incompatabilities. That was when MSE was introduced. The same goes for running other stuff often downloaded without you knowing with other software (McAfee, Norton, etc). They end up fighting each other which leads, as they say nicely, to other vulnerabilities.
This is not a Microsoft plug but why would you use any of these third-party antivirus, etc scanners when MS employ literally thousands of staff to try and keep on top of hackers and MSE is their own free one.

My previous PC was running Norton 2003 (I think) over XP. MS introduced Defender and I installed it. When MSE was introduced my nephew was at MS in Seattle and told me to uninstall everything else, including Defender. MSE was a bit of a hog at first on the PC but seemed to do the job faster as it developed.
MSE is now on my Windows 7 laptop, has picked up a couple of Trojans in 12 months and seems all good.
