    Another W8 challange

How do I get my games onto my desktop setup so I don't have to keep going into W8 tiles?

This one is a pure standalone, you do have to use the "net" to download it, but it doesn't require being online to play it.

    Euro Truck Simulator 2

It is also highly modifiable and quite a bit of fun.

As for Win 8, I read on ZDNet news last week, the take up rate for Win 8 is even more dismal than Vista was.
I didn't think they could actually make a less popular OS, but they did it!

Thanks Shorty, I'll go and investigate the game.

As for W8, I wish I had known about it before Leeanne bought it. I would have probably bought it too, but I think I'd have tried it at the shop first, which would have afforded me proper questions etc about it all.

And I've just spent quite a portion of the afternoon trying to load a printer on,,, without much success, so no doubt I'll be looking for info about that soon

I think that's because Win7 hasn't been out that long, and quite a few people made the move from XP to Win7, and it's too soon to upgrade again.

I got this new computer with W8 on it because my old one won't recognise Sata drive v2 or 3. My old Sata 1 died. Is it possible to get a new sata v1 or are they a thing of the past. Give me XP OR W7 anyday

If you go to the W8 start page (with all the tiles) there are two tiles marked Microsoft Mahjong and Microsoft solitaire. These are a fair collection of stand alone games . It is also possible to download games onto your desktop page and put them into a games folder as in XP or W7. If they are not on the start page, right click and then left click on symbol bottom right of screen which says something like "show all tiles"". Look for these in the list .left click on the tile and then click on "pin to start menu"". This will place the big tile on the main page.

Why don't you purchase Win7 and bung that on instead of Win8? back up your stuff, put win7 disc in, boot off it and away you go
