    COMPUTERS HATE ME

They really do!!! Having finally sorted my new pc after it crashed during a legitimate procedure (system restore) I now struggle with firefox on my laptop. I can open the program but once open I can do nothing with it, not even close down. I have to force close to stop it, So I get out my old emergency laptop and all programs run well, Having not done so for a while I decided to run my security program to check for problems. Half way through the computer indicated on the screen that windows had detected a problem and would shut down to save computer. Well it shut down ok and now the computer is totally dead, won't even boot up. Can't boot from cd drive. Totally stuff*d. 3 computers, all running legitimate programs, failing and now not running properly. I said computers hate me!!!!! I think I will go back to letter writing then Aust Post will lose the darn things. Ajgry Jim

Old emergency laptop that completely shut down this morning... wouldn't turn on even... suddenly came good this afternoon all by itself. Have they started to love me or is it my lucky day? Oh well 3 computers up and running. Still leaves my old pc which is headed for the recycle program. Jim

    Hey,

On Chrome, have you tried it in the last 6 to 12 months? It has changed a fair amount. I quite like it these days, in fact to the extent that I sometimes feel a little lost if forced to use something else.

I have been in IT now about 11 years and it's only very recently that I made the switch to Chrome. I will admit though, there really is no browser out there that will successfully do everything you want, I still find myself using multiple browsers day to day to achieve my tasks.

    Thanks

    Chris

I've stopped using IE years ago, it's still behind the times & isn't even upto date properly with CS3.
Firefox does most my general needs, sometimes a bit of chrome... Oh and for all less obvious things... TOR is the one Hidden away in a world of it's own i must say... Onion
