copy the cd files to a hard drive folder

right click on rave.exe and select run as administrator

if that alone doesnt work run it into xp compatiubilty mode

plenty of tutorials on the net on how to do that.

Don't use the built in Windows 8 Reader for the PDF's it doesn't understand the links. Download Adobe Acrobat XI reader and use it to open Welcome.pdf or better still Rave-lr.pdf on the Rave CD. All works fine then.

By default Rave CD autoruns Acrobat 4 from the CD and this won't run under windows 8.

I don't ask me what I've done. It now works and I've made no changes.

    It is using RAVE's in-built Acrobat 4

I don't recall doing anything special, but I've had no trouble with Rave running either in Win7 or 8.
    (using the inbuilt Acrobat 4)

If you are running 32 bit Win7/8 then it may possibly work but Acrobat 4 is a 16 bit app and shouldn't run on a 64 bit Windows install.

Most of the sales of win 7 & 8 are 64 bit,but you can get 32 bit as well.

I'm getting a disc with 32 bit so I can run lot of xp HDD's that I have.
