that is a function of the computer itself at a low level eg you want to select cdrom or hard drive or external drive

many computers it is F12 key on others it is Esc key and others F2 key or F8 key and on others you have to go into bios using F1 or F2 or Del key

    gotta love em

Is the install an upgrade of your old computer or a complete new computer purchased with Windoze 8 installed? The reason being is there is different Bios access methods for the 2. If it is an upgrade of your old system acess is the same as for your old operating system. If it is new computer this is the way to do it

Thanks Scott, this is exactly what I needed. However the stupid computer has righted itself and is now running normally. Jim

Sometimes if you leave a USB key in the pc then boot it, that can confuse em and they will attempt to boot from the key then spit up a boot error.
