    Question Bugs? Kernel failure?

Our laptop keeps having hissy fits

    It shuts down with a blue screen, saying the fault is;
    Kernel_Security_Check_Failure.
A windows problem somehow, from what I can work out.
Has anyone had this issue with theirs, and if so, how did you fix it?

    What Make/Model of laptop,
Does it bsod straight away or after a while.

I'd start by pulling all usb devices out and running a mem test if you can.

    Cheers.

    Its an HP Pavilliong6

Sometimes it'll run for hours, and other times, I can start it, get it to the desktop, and then it goes awal.
I don't generally run with any USB devices in, other than when transferring pics or using it for OziExplorer when I'm out driving in the bush.

Its been doing this for some time now.

    Which Windows version?
And is there an error number to go with it?

    Try this link:
Bug Check 0x139 KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (Windows Debuggers)

Suggest you have a driver problem, is your Windows 8 a new install or did you upgrade from a prvious OS?

Its all brand new,, well, 12 months old now. Its had no upgrades that I know of, but I didn't actually buy it. Leeanne organised it all, I think its got extra power etc so it can run Ozi etc without issues. But I'm unaware of what exactly was done prior to her picking it up.
In retrospect, I doubt it would have been much that was done to it at the shop, as she bought it and picked it up at the same time, and I had to do what I believe was the initial start-up. So this would tell me that this unit she got was like a "Top" model (?), so to speak.

I'll go into that link, which I think is where I ended up the other night,,,, umm rather confused though

Bit89 (or was it 98?) seems to be the problem.
The hard part is I cant find it to disable it. Its an Add-on for Explorer apparently.

I didn't get to post this before, as I got another Blue Screen .
However, as it started to reboot, I was trying to get the mouse to work, and I got another BS. So now I've taken the mouse out, we'll see if this may be part of the problem. Its been causing some grief lately, but its never coincided with a BS.
