Finally... discovered my treasure trove of LPs the other day, including a set of re-mastered recordings of Peter Dawson I bought from the National Film and Sound Archive about 25 yrs ago... , yep there's Abba and Hot August Night and ...and Beethoven.. an eclectic mix...
so I thought I might put them onto a hard drive using a suitable lossless format.
I have a NAD digital/phono USB preamp etc but realised that the soundcard in my computer is less than adequate (ASUS N53 quad core with 16gb and a 750Gb hybrid hard drive ...win 7 home premium.). Have been looking at the Creative sound Blaster external soundcard which is about $35 at Umart.
Anyone had experience with these?

also, bought a $30 DAB+ radio from Aldi the other day and plugged it into the aux port on my amplifier. I "discovered" MBS"light" (classical) ...can't get enough of it! fantastic. what a change from the constant droning malcontents on Radio National!
