Make sure you get a powered hub. You don't want to overload your remaining hub and kill that.
Hello All,
My Toshiba Satellite that I have owned for years is now down to one USB port that functions out of the two that it came with.
I use an external keyboard and mouse and due to my studies I use multiple USB Memory sticks.
Has anyone come across the ORICO P10-U3 10 Ports USB 3.0 Hub? If so how reliable and efficient are they? Are you happy with the product?
From a brief bit of research 10 ports seems to be highest number with 7 and 4 being the most common. Is 10 a 10 port hub the limit of ports available for a lap top?
Yes I could ditch my wired keyboard and mouse to regain two USB ports however they are both only months old.
Kind Regards
Lionel

USB ports can support up to 126 connections (actually 125, as it reserves one address for itself). In practice, however, any more than half a dozen at once will cause hangups etc in Windows. Most Unix based systems will happily run more, but the power issue becomes more relevant the more items you plug in.
Be aware that some USB 3 items will not talk to USB 1 or 2.
