Time Capsule trouble

					G'day folks!
My Time Capsule is having some issues lately. First, it was stuck in "Calculating Changes" mode as it is called in Snow Leopard, similar to "Preparing" in current OS. Apple Help Desk (an oxymoron) is no help at all. After several restarts, a repair run on both my hard disc and the Time Capsule volume and some fiddling, all of which didn't solve the problem, I found a solution on the net where I had do delete some files in a backup folder. This made Time Machine go further, only to get stuck at "Indexing", which it was doing forever. This was finally overcome by excluding Time Machine backups from Spotlight, an advice I also found on the 'net and was helpful.
Now the next trouble is that Time Machine has slowed down considerably, it takes ages to complete a simple backup and, in contrast to earlier backups, now always the computer's fans come on.
I am running Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard when experiencing the trouble. Funnily enough, my Mac with the same OS version runs perfectly well on the same Time Capsule... Can anyone help?
Funny I have to ask this question on a Land Rover forum, but I know this is the only place where you can expect unconditional, unbiased expert advice!
Cheers
