I'm almost at the point of binning the iPad.
It took over a minute for that line above to finish being displayed after I typed it.
The problem is that Apple probably don't care that the upgrade has disadvantaged a lot of users.

See my post above, turn off the ICLOUD drive. Doing so helped me.
Also agree with your comment about apple. They assume or want people to buy new versions of their devices to cater for the oversized software.
I use a lot of their gear but if you have a problem you are on your own unless millions of Americans or Chinese (the big markets) have the same problem.

It seems a Jailbreak for iOS 8.1 has been released. I don't know much about Jailbreaks so I don't know if I should go that way.
Apple are rumoured to be releasing 8.1.1 to fix the problems of speed, etc., with 8.1 on older devices.
I've got a similar issue, but mine is with my ipad 1 and iOS 6 (from memory). Been slow as since its last update (which was years ago mind you). I've been meaning to go back an iOS for quiet some time now, just havent got around to it yet:D Im sure apple does it on purpose to so people get ****ty with their device and buy a new one. But I cant be bothered playing the update game with apple every year, espcially when mine works perfectly fine for what we use it for (generaly just surfing the net when someones using the main computer or when on the crapper:angel:)
