Ah! You have ADSL. That will probably be moved to NBN.
I'll make a few enquiries.

Mick,
Must say we're very happy with our NBN wireless based VOIP phone service after sorting out a minor issue with interference.
Maybe the quality of the service depends on the ISP you use and the equipment they supply, or the equipment you purchase.
I suspect the quality of your domestic phone wiring may also play a part.
Re the speed of our internet service using the NBN, we've not noticed much difference compared with our previous ADSL service. Admittedly we're on the cheapest (ie. Slowest) NBN plan on offer from our ISP.
As you mentioned, the cost of our NBN internet plan is on a par with the old ADSL a plan, though from memory we now have a larger monthly data quota.

I reckon you're right there.
I have two telephone services. One is VoIP with the phone connected to the ISP supplied router plugged into the UNI-D port and the other is the telephone plugged into the UNI-V port. Both use good quality Austel telephones supplied by Telstra. The service plugged into the UNI-V port is much better than the service plugged into the supplied router.
i wish i had nbn
