Yeah Chucky, I've been watching this Thread with intense interest and being a computer illiterate, I don't want to stuff up when I eventually decide to upgrade!!!

i just got paid to do a reversal and cleanup on a hp desktop that really packed the sads when 10 was installed...
it had a virus problem before the upgrade..
make sure you do a full scan with something decent like hitmanpro before upgrading...
you can get a free 30 day version of the above...
It wouldn't impact many, but there is also very interesting behaviour with an upgrade if you previously have Cisco's IPsec VPN software installed.
After upgrade, while all networking devices are visible in device manager - none are available to windows to access.
There are ways around it, but would have been useful to know before upgrading. Glad the roll back is reasonably painless....
So, if Win 10 is a total failure on the Surface 3, should I try to install it on my Samsung Galaxy 3, which is now infested with ads for Win10, or leave well enough alone as it works just fine despite frequent ads to remind me my browser is no long supported? What do you reckon?

Surface 3 pro now it is shipped with Window 10 and I guess that MS are using the customers as test labs to find bugs so they can correct them.
IMO if there is urgency in installing Window 10 I will wait up to the last day of the offer because MS is correction bugs every day as they are reported.

After the failure of my SSD hybrid boot disk, I did a restore from my previous backup (a few days old) to a spare HDD. that was Win 7 Pro. Unfortunately, not all applications would work nor reinstall.
So I tried a non-destructive reinstall (upgrade) of Win 7. After several days and several attempts I had to admit defeat.
I downloaded Microsoft's installer last night and Win 10 seems to have installed properly, the applications have reinstalled, and Win 10 feels like it is much faster. I'm running an old ASUS dual core LGA775 motherboard.
Here are links that can provide the answer for those that have problems with Windows 10.

OK so I told my laptop to reserve it - then it says can download so I clicked yep.
Within minutes it says ready to install ?!
So I click yes.
Then it thinks for a while and says "Something went wrong, try again later".
Great start ::)
What I need to know is just how confused it is? How can I check that it is still downloading the files it needs?
Anyone have this message before? Fix ?
Edge won't play YouTube videos (on my PC) - well, the soundtrack is heard but the screen is black. Chrome will play normally.
Mick what is the Galaxy 3 running at the moment? Are we talking the S3 Phone?...if so I would wait as Win10 phone version has not yet been released.
I've got a preview version on a Nokia 1020.....and while I love the desktop version, this phone preview is pretty average in my view and makes the Nokia run really slow.
Most of the complaints about it on Surface seem to be around tablet mode - which is obviously what the phone will use.
