Well, aren't I the clever one. I have one page of my website running (in draft, on a local host) using PHP HTML and CSS.
Anyway before I start getting too carried away I am giving some thought to what folder structure I ought to have on the server.
(Just for reference, the current site is Untitled Document but is being heavily revised)
I was thinking of a structure along these lines.
public_html
content
css
documents
images
thumbs
js
multimedia
Seem reasonable?
I'm concerned with the images section .
what about -
maps
image maps
photos
graphics / logos
schematics
could maybe have 2 sub folders of photos ( historic and contemporary, or pre58 and post 58) to make it a bit cleaner.
Problem is of course that the more sub-folders the more of a PITA it is to reference them in the html/php
Can anticipate that there will be a significant growth in the number of images (esp of the vessel & armaments, and the crew) over time.
Happy with any ideas people may wish to offer.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
