Despite paying for an annual subscription for a virus program and doing at least weekly full in-depth scans as an "administrator" I noticed a little window appear.It happened while loading up a picture-heavy truck website and the little window that briefly flashed up said something like "Google Leads". Meanwhile the whole computer froze until it loaded something
I found a website about how to remove Google Leads. Do you think that the removal instructions are plausible? Or is it a malicious site in itself? I am a semi-Luddite so I would like the opinion of others more versed with computers before playing with the Registry files.

Or alternatively, is there a reputable freeware program that I can download that can pick up this Trojan and remove it?
I am not happy that my uBute annual subscription anti-virus program that is meant to be fully active during internet use did not pick this Trojan up in the first place

I downloaded AdwCleaner and the program runs up to a point where it says "waiting for action. Please uncheck items you want to keep"
What action does it want me to take and what do I want to keep?
It will not progress beyond this point.
