    Computer Freezing

    Hello All,

I have had my computer freezing when I download things like just open the description of what a television show is when I check the TV Guide online. No response to anything until the computer has downloaded a couple of paragraphs about the TV show.

Just with AULRO running and no other software programs operating I noticed a display that my RAM is running at 62%
The computer is an Asus Laptop Processor Intel (R) Core (TM) i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM) 4:00 GB (3.79 GB usable)
System Type 64 bit Operating System
    Windows 7

Have I reached a point where I simply do not have enough RAM?

I ran a complete virus check at In-depth + Administrator level and some recommended programs by Incisor for Malware and it is all clear.

What could be going skew-if with my computer?

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

Over the past couple of weeks I've been having a similar problem with my PC just locking up after a few minutes. Rebooting got it going for a few minutes.

ASUS Maximus Formula Special Edition, 2.4GHz Dual Core Intel E6600 CPU, 6Gb DDR2-800 RAM, SSD HDD, Nvidia GEForce 8800GTS video card.

I swapped RAM, the video card, etc., but to no avail.

Then I noticed that the RAM voltage indicator was red, not green, meaning it's running at what ASUS call "Crazy" voltage. When the RAM indicator is green, I have no problem. Changing the BIOS to try to force the RAM voltage to 1.8v didn't work. It stayed "crazy". No, I don't overclock as I have no games at all on my PC.

In the end, I tossed the motherboard and went back to my old motherboard. I've had no problems since but the system is slower.

Re RAM usage, when you press Alt-Ctrl-Del and bring up Task Manager, how much RAM is in use?

    Hello P38Rover,

Thank you for the reply. Please see the attached and please realise that to me the computer is a "magic box"; as I am a semi-Luddite. Hence my like of Series 3 Land Rovers = "computer what computer?"

My main concern that the Asus will keep going on being able to handle Word - Visio - and Excel and EndNote so that I can finish my degree - before my degree finishes me Oh for me to be able to stay up to date with AULRO and watch Land Rover clips when I either reward myself for doing study tasks or practice avoidance from study tasks .

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
