    Two pc problems

    Hi all. My two problems are, firstly, when I boot up it intermittently refuses to connect to the internet. It uses cable to the wifi modem. I have replaces the lead and tried a different port on the modem. Even though this is not working my laptop using wireless has no problems. Rebooting usually solves the problem.
    My second problem is that when my pc goes to sleep I have a terrible time trying to get it to wake up. Sometimes I have to reboot the stupid thing.
    Any suggestions? Jim

    I disable sleep mode on all of my windoze 7 computers, its more trouble than its worth. I'll turn the bloody things off when I'm ready.

    all I know is that in 8.1 windows doesnt really sleep,, its some form of hybrid,, done so it wakes quicker

    I finally disabled the sleep function so that gets rid of one problem. As to the internet connection, it has only failed once in the last two weeks so I can live with it. Thanks, Jim
