    so, the AM3 socket is still the current/latest?
    For the time being it is. AMD has not been focused on the pc market, more on the imbedded market like x box and play station. Apparently the are moving back to the pc market with a completely new cpu that should give intel a shake up.

    The new cpu goes by the name Zen. Already made, working and they are just working on the release date. Supposed to give pc`s self awareness or some thing.
