Hi - am thinking of replacing my QuickBooks system with Xero.
I need to attribute employee time against a job (for a customer) throughout the day, and send out customer invoices at the end of the month.
So this is what I need to capture:
- Employee works for a specific customer for a given time
- Employee needs to fill in timesheet for the hours for that customer, listing the specific work done, and the date.
- Employee goes to a new task for a different customer
- Employee fills in next time entry for date/hours/customer
- Repeat all day....
I've set up a trial Xero account, with:
- Dummy employee (me!)
- Dummy Customer
I can bill (Invoice) the customer for work done, but not attribute it to a specific employee.
I can enter timesheets for the employee, but not detail which customer(s) the work was done for.
Am I missing something? Do I have to buy an add on package to do this?
My (10 year old) version of QuickBooks does this, and it only cost $500 or something minuscule, so am hoping Xero can do much the same.
Thanks
David
David, you have to use a 3rd party SAS package.
I have been looking at MinuteDock which has a unique way of letting you enter time sheet info:
https://minutedock.com/features/
you need to synch clients from xero to minutedock , create invoices from time sheets in minute dock then export invoice to xero. most of this automatic once linked.
There are plenty of other time sheet packages that link to xero:
