    Split partitions on drive

    I'd like to merge the two partitions on the ends,,
    I gather the split makes it harder?

    can be done, i think

    right click and delete the volume you dont want.
    then right click the volume you want to explan and click expnd

    it shouldnt,

    the windows partitioning software appears to be essentially reporting the partitions in the order they were created, not the position they are in on the disc

    it should just be a case of deleting the F: partion and then using the extend volume option.

    Its says its a recovery partition,,

    didnt really help the last time

    a recovery partion thats 1/2 the size of the main partition?

    ok..

    assuming the recovery partion is the center one it should let you do it,

    I just did it on a spare drive, split it into 3, put some data in each partition and then removed the last partition and merged it to the first one leaving the second intact.

    however.

    none of those were recovery or protected partitions.

    Recovery partitions aren't a Windows thing, they're provided by the system manufacturer rather than all the disks we used to get when we bought a new machine.

    Usually need a key combination ([ctrl]+[c]?) during boot. Main trick (with a Toshiba) was not to accept the format disk option because that used to format the hard drive including the recovery partition. Then, of course, there was nothing to use for the recovery.

    Its a seagate SSD drive, I snaffled it from my laptop upgrade(try and keep up) so its not an original anything.
