    E-Mail Problems

    Since last Saturday I'm only able to receive E-mails. When I try to send I get this error.message.
    An unknown error has occurred. Subject xxxx, Account: 'mail.eftel.net.au', Server: 'mail.eftel.com',
    Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 smtp01.syd.oss-core.com', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F
    This morning I rang Eftel. We went through all the settings, which proved to be correct. They sent me a test message which arrived but when I tried to send it to myself I got the error message again.
    I was then advised that the fault must be with OE ,Window Mail and was given a number to contact Microsoft. That number directed me back to a trouble shooting page which I consulted before I started to make enquiries, unless I was prepared to pay for their advice.
    Any ideas what the problem could be? What are the chances that a change of E-mail address would solve this problem. Would a computer expert like Dave be able to sort this out? Unfortunately he lives too far away to make a house visit.

    Looks like its not only you
    email pop problem this morning? - Eftel/ClubTelco/aaNet - Whirlpool Forums

    maybe check the settings listed at the end and ensure they are close to your settings.

    Hmm, I,m getting that problem now. I can receive e-mails but can't send them and the error is 554 just as with the OP.
