    Ubuntu

    Have downloaded Ubuntu on a spare laptop that I had.

    Updated to the latest,but now have BIG problem.

    How the hell do you get the keyboard to type in english..

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    It is several years since I have used Ubuntu, but somewhere in the installation process you will have been offered a choice of keyboard type - it seems you may have either missed this or clicked on the wrong line.

    However, all is not lost. Somewhere there will be a menu option to change things. On my computer, using Mint, which is a derivation of Ubuntu, this is called System Settings. Look for a heading under that called hardware, and then for input devices.

    Hopefully someone can give more precise directions for Ubuntu!
