Sure can, i have run linux (Ubuntu/Kubuntu) and windows as a dual boot system - works well.
My poor computer is struggling to run windows 10. The processor often runs at peak speed. Now I realise the simple way to overcome this problem is to get a new faster computer..but I was wondering.. If I was to add a new partition could I install an older system like w7 which I have and run existing added programs from that with the view of deleting w10. Any thoughts or suggestions. Jim

Sorry I was assuming that you had upgraded from 7 to 10...there is an option to go back if you have. If you bought the pc with 10 on it, I assume then you may need to buy 7, so may be easier to go with your original idea. Someone more tech savvy will have to answer that one.
