what would you know? you're a "moderator".
Trolls, fanboys and lurkers: improving online commenting culture - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Some people really need to toughen up.Do you call that a haircut? I hope you didn't pay for it.
Oh please this is rubbish, you're a disgrace to yourself and your profession.
I get worse comment directed at me. Don't I, Tom.
Yeah, you too, Gav. Not to mention any names.
But, I must admit there are some really nasty people out there. Death threats! Really? Is that necessary?
Also, there are some that get off on being offended. That is just as bad, in my opinion.

This is exactly why good moderation is important for maintaining the integrity of any site/forum
People can also get "Offended" over the most trivial of things +blow it completely out of proportion regardless of how well moderated a site can be.
There is a very fine line between "moderation" and "Censorship"

I've heard of some cases of people, particularly women, being subjected to absolutely vile cyberbullying. Some students too. Seems to be a pack mentality. One has a go and others pile on. Disgusts me beyond words
This "pack mentality" exists everywhere.
I remember the first person to be tested positive for drug driving at a random breath testing station. It was disgusting how the police there that night were affected by "pack mentality", circling around him like sharks in a feeding frenzy. He was taken to a police station where he was further tested for drugs. Guess what! Negative result.
Yes, "pack mentality" exists everywhere. It's what our society is built on.
Of course, it would naturally move to social media.
If we are expected to "toughen up" in real life, we should also be expected to "toughen up" on social media.
Oh, yes, women. In the school yard, they are the biggest bullies. Is it any wonder they are the biggest bullies on social media.
Yeah, we had it a lot easier when I was at high school..... Instead you would have 3 or 4 of them surrounding you to fight .............................. The bullies were so tough, they would see me outside the school ground and change sides of the roads they are walking down ('cos 1 against 1 isn't great odds is itbullies are only tough when there is a crowd to back them up).
