    Not stress testing a PC--

    I have just built a PC for a friend, he understands the "limitations" offered,,
    all I need is a test/benchmark that runs for a long time but isnt out to break the components,,

    there are lots of cpu tests
    and lots of vid card tests
    and memtest

    but I'm not really interested in max testing,, ( though I had to run memtest 27 times to work out a problem...)
    the system is not set up for Heaven, or Furmark..
    really all I need is someone to sit here and work this for a few hours,,,

    and thats the test I need...

    Ok,, last job after ensuring it all worked was to check cpu paste,,
    and found this,, and its stuck hard!! small screwdriver wont lever it off (gently)...
    has not looked like over heating,,
    might just bolt it all back on and close my eyes20180905_195929.jpg

    so,, do I lever the cpu off?
    or try and reseat the cpu AND Cooler onto the motherboard?

    atm no pins are bent,,,


    and yes that means I pulled the cooler AND cpu off the socket

    just tried a twist test on the cpu and its not budging!!!

    But. but but but.....
    to reseat the cpu I have to lift up the pressure lever,, which of couse interferes with me reseating the combo...

    I am actually concerned now the amount of force required to remove the cpu will **** it...


    whatever thermal compound they used was more glue than thermal!!

    thinking 12" multigrips and twist.. more area to grip

    and yes I said multigrips.....
