    Uninstall Windows Update

Early this morning an auto windows update (Win 10 update 1909) was applied to my computer - it is crap and I would like to uninstall it if possible.

Could do this on older versions of Windows but not sure with Win 10 - is it possible, if so how do I uninstall this update.

    Thanks

Thanks Dave worked great - the update caused major issues with various formats and the clipboard function in the calculator no longer works which causes me major issues in some spreadsheet work I do.

The MS site is getting lots of complaints about a lot of issues in the update so hopefully all fixed in future updates.

    Cheers

I did read that the 1909 update had caused a lot of problems but thankfully I've had no problems at all
    on my computer.

The one thing that I do,is when microsoft puts out an update, i hold off for a month and see if they cause
any problems,so I know whether its a good or bad update.

    cheers

You have got to give it to Microsoft - they are persistent.

Rolled the troublesome update back and then turned updates and notifications off. However each day I get pop up (pop ups are turned off too) from MS saying I have an update available and I have 3 options - restart to install, update tonight or program a time - no option to disregard - I normally hit the close button and nothing happens as I turn off the computer overnight. Also when you turn the computer off - in addition to the turn off/restart option there is a new option of update and restart.

Last night I forgot to turn the computer off and low and behold it updated overnight even though I have updates off. So the update popup must overide owner's preferences not to update.

The update put all the crap on that it did before so I have again rolled it back - so i guess I will just have to make sure my computer goes off at night to stop the update, even though I have updates turned off.

You have gotta love Microsoft - not.

I'm pretty sure you can hold off on the updates for a month.

Thats how I've got my 'puter set up when it comes to updates.

When you got into settings- updates-advanced settings- go to bottom of page and select 30 on each of the last 2 that you can select.

That gives you 30 days from when the new update comes on,so you can see what the hassles will be.

    cheers

Thanks for that information but when I go into Settings - Windows Update - Advanced Options I do not see anything at the bottom of the page

What version of Win 10 do you have?

To my knowledge pausing updates has been implemented for some time. Note the date in the picture below, it's from 2017.

    Try going into delivery optimisation.

That might give you the option of delaying the update.

    Other than that,I cant help..

Hope you get it sorted out.
