Psst that $1500gpu was just made obsolete

One of my mates is spitting chips. Just brought a new graphics card a few months ago prepping himself for a new Microsoft flight Sim.

His very expensive upgrade cost a lot and is not obsolete due to a huge change in Graphics

Happily my five year old graphics is fine with me Hiding this from my kids

well he's been living under a rock,,
the 3000 series has been rumored to drop around September for nearly 6 months,, lots of well placed leaks on size shape and performance,

mind you.. it may take a 3090 to run the newest Flight Sim...
if you internet it a certain way the commercial jets you pass are real and on time...

and as at today you can still buy a 2080 Ti for over $2Kau... so he was a bit picky...

I have my eye on a 3080 of some sort... twice the HP of a 2080 for maybe $1Kau..

I was a bit scared to look at the specs on mine. It is interesting that 10-20 years ago we would see doubling of speed/capacity. CPU, Ram and Graphics cards all have really slowed the prior rapid advances.

Happy with my old school. I did see a 8k tv in Harvey Norman pre Covid19. Insane price plus. Not for me until a 24k+ version makes 8k old school Happily at home under or on water so Flight Sims are not so in demand here. A mad racing sim gent I know has his RTX3090 ordered already.
