    The spammers can send something from a number that appears differently in different zones of the world. I got one that showed to me as a supermarket in South Africa.
    There was an explanation on "Download this show" on ABC radio......I think it was this episode

    I see it’s been a while since this was posted, but I just wanted to ask if anyone's seen an increase in spam texts that look like legit missed delivery notices lately? I’ve been getting them from random local numbers and wonder what filters or apps actually work without killing performance. Would love to hear if anyone’s tried something new since last posting here.

    YES! Along with spurious MyGov and a plethora of other messages. Unfortunately for me, I cannot activate my iPhone's screening function, because the hospital frequently texts me from hidden numbers

    I had similar issues and switching to a new sip trunking provider really helped cut down spam calls. They offer better caller ID filtering and it's been much quieter since. The older one I used didn't filter much at all. Might be worth checking what features your current provider gives or thinking about changing to one with better spam protection.
