    Second Monitor Refresh rate

I have had the opportunity to withdraw my Acer Predator monitor out of storage,, and now have it running off the laptop (via a brand new 8K HDMI cable). 4 years ago it was quite a thing, 165hz at 2560 x 1440 at 1ms...
No matter what I try now it runs at 60hz...
    up to date win 11..

    Any ideas? display port cable?

Is it a problem?? I can't help with your particular issue, but I have a 50" Pioneer Kuro TV ( Also quite a thing back in the day. Still is IMO ), and my TV insists on running it at 60Hz. It would automatically shift to 50Hz if I plugged it into a FTA antenna. Guess what I'm asking is, does the Acer control the PAL refresh rate? And do you get a good picture? Does the monitor autoselect the RR?

Any buttons on the screen itself that take you to a menu of options? Not quite the same as your problem but I watched someone try setting up a three screen system on a desktop gaming machine. No matter what they did in Windows they could not get three screens running at once. Secret was the menu contained in the screen itself.
