The issues continued with Outlook so I gave up. I installed Thunderbird and it too also loaded up the old emails hidden in the system - the big difference to Outlook was that with Thunderbird I could just highlight the old email and remove it, after importing the old email folders into the new email.

Thanks for every ones help and input.

Thunderbird has great spam detection as well, been using it for about 15 years.

I have been running Thunderbird for about 2 months now and it has been fine - however about a week ago it stopped working and I could no longer send or receive emails using it.

I spoke to my ISP and reset incoming and outgoing servers and ports but that had no effect and they were not able to help. As discussed above I changed from Outlook to Thunderbird as I could not do a clean install of Outlook.

I decided to uninstall Thunderbird and do a clean install but like with Outlook my system will not let me do that - it brings all my old stuff back including the fault. As well as using the Windows Uninstall program, I have also used Revo Uninstaller and CC cleaner to clean up but nothing works.

So does anyone know of a uninstaller that does actually completely uninstall programs and allow a clean install that does not look for old files.

    Thanks
