gotta love these intel based macs....

talk about the best of both worlds...

bought myself an imac as a client wanted my asus laptop, come hell or high water. ended up with a 17" IMac 2.0g core two duo with 1gig ram and 160 sata hdd, all up just under $1600 ...which is exactly what i sold the laptop for :P

been running it now for a couple of nights, got the OSX running the way i like it with the software i like to use.. and a couple of nice new utils i found. purring like a kitten... dam fine OS IMHO.. nearly as good as OS/2 was.

tried the "boot camp" beta tonite and woohoo, in under an hour it is up and running windows xp pro sp2, and its quick as a flash too, whoops my 3.0 p4 (oldish 478 cpu) based work machine..

very impressive.... leopard (next version of OSX due shortly) is going to be fantasmagorical if this is any indication...

but enough of this, i miss OSX already :P

    back to the bright side!

$1600! That's one VERY good thing about Intel chipsets!

I've been hanging on to the G4 I so I could see what panned out with my work situation. If I decide to resume working for myself fulltime I might just have to shout me one of the new ones. Still running OS 9.2.2 here but it just keeps doing what I ask it to so I've seen no reason to change it.

I'd like to but it's only a G4 433 with 512Mb of ram. I suppose I could set up one of the drives to run OSX. Will it coexist happily if I do it that way?

some 433's need a bios update before you can put osx on if my memory serves me rightly...

i think i would stick with nine on the machine if it is stable now.
