    Xp Pro update..I'm over it!

Well the update was going along pretty good until this.

Ron and Shorty obviously spoke to soon and put a hex on my upgrade.

To bring you up to speed they hijacked my serious thread and prattled on about their floppy's and hard whatever......

    So now, guess what?

    My floppy will not work..

The bios sees it, loaded default & performance bios settings, Xp pro sees it, the Device manager sees it, the Hardware installs latest driver, select 'My Computer' then 'A drive' it starts but tells me to insert floppy (its in there!!)

I have changed ribbon, changed floppy drive, floppys work in other computers just fine and wants to install program.

    I am over it

My objective is to install Office '97 Pro which is an upgrade to Office Professional. Office Professional is on a 24 floppy disk set and I need it to recognise the floppy to install the upgrade. This is my immediate concern but the floppy does need to work.

It was working with '98 and now it will not work with Xp Pro...

Don't bother, just download Open Office.

    http://www.openoffice.org/

Does all the same stuff, and saves as .pdf if you want.

    And FREE.

    Cheers

    Sorry Lyndon.

To repeat all the above. Office 98, 24 floppies?
Please, do as Simon says (no pun?). If you have a slow internet connection, any recent computer mag will have a recent release of Open Office.

    Shorty.
