What windows doesn't work properly, and you have to pay someone to get it working properly...... that's capitalism Ms designs something, sells it, then trains people to go out and fix something that should never have been broke before hand. LOL

I reckon XP was funamentally unsuitable for the purpose for which was sold. If you installed it and then jumped on the net you were a gonner Instead you had to install firewalls..virus checkers.. anti-spyware etc to stand a chance. Even then you weren't entirely safe.

My mac out of the box. Default config.. nothing extra installed. After 18 months of cable connectivity... not a issue

My Macs work without effort, but the lone Wintel PC in this house is a constant source of angst...

I'd like to like it but.....................

frankly, windows XP is just like an old 'three on the tree'

OSX works like a good auto, just like the box in my Landy....

unix backround so jumped to a mac as soon as osx was out...was a good move..apart from a couple of disk crashes over the years, not a problem. Have 'converted' rather a lot of mates to use a mac and now dont get any 'support' calls from the converted....except on what new mac to buy :-)

running a mini in a rangie for almost 2 years with NO issues, reboots etc...try that on a pc The first 14months or so was a ppc, the last 7 or so have been an intel mini.

As other users have stated, they just work out of the box which leaves more time for play

Everyone remember in the movie Midnight Express where all the Microsoft PC dudes were walking the wheel.

And the Mac guy asks " why are we all walking in this direction?"
The reply was " be cause we are bad machines"

Then the Mac guys replies : I'm not a bad machine " and walks the opposite direction. The Microsoft PC guys get in a flurry and try to persuade him to walk in their direction

And of course the Linux guys just stood on the side line and shook their heads and said " if they only know"
