Ray you can also give Bit torrent a go. They usually have the game + the crack so the downside is you may need to download a game you already have just to get the crack.

Most things I can generally find on http://astalavista.com/
But like any hrmm dubious tasks such as getting a game crack, regardless of where you get it from, astalavista or torrents, there is a far far higher chance you may be downloading with or without the crack some form of virus, malware, spyware etc etc.
If you going to download cracks etc, either by going to sites or using torrents ensure you virus scan before you open it, once opened or "patched" run your anti-mal/spyware. I can't stress this enough, assume your system has be infected rather than "oh I have such-n-such program running, I'm safe" or "I know computers, there is no mal/spyware on my computer"
If nothing else, become familiar with some of the listed programs and online scanners here http://unconfigured.wordpress.com/malware-spyware/ I originally put this info here for friends and some customers that wanted to clean up their own Windows based computers rather than pay me or in the case of friends, rather than have to spend my time doing it for them.
Apart from nasties, keep in mind a LOT of torrent sites and other game/program crack sites have a very large focus on adult material on their site advertising, if you find such things offensive or you have children, then most are best avoided.

Safer sites like these.
Sourceforge.com
FreshMeat.org
SoftwareArchives.com
CNet.com/downloads
ZDNet.com/downloads
I started using these sites for Linux programs, they cater for every operating system in common use today, plus quite a few obscure or dis-continued OS's.
Thousands of applications, in every possible category.
Freeware, shareware, most importantly, clean and reliable.
And best of all, Firefox friendly, so next to no adds, pop-ups, and the rest.
CNet, and ZDNet are security consultants on a Global IT scale, to register to receive their security alerts is free. I get a damn good idea of just which things to stay clear of, when looking for internet or any kind of program really, by checking to see if what I want is listed with these companies.
Shorty.
