    Outlook Email

    One for the geeks/gurus ...........
I use MS Outlook for emails. I've set up various folders and sub-folders for work and personal e.g. 4WD and various clients by name etc.

Then I set various rules to move incoming mail to the relevant folder, based on the sender's address.

About 50% work correctly and the rest "copy" to the relevant folder whilst leaving the original in the main inbox folder.
I've checked the rules and they all appear kosher, but don't always work the same.

As Julius Sumner Miller used to say .... Why is it so??

    Cheers

    can you speel MICROSOFT :P

i have found that outlook doesnt always create rules correctly first time, but gets them corret the second time. I create, run it on the folders, if it doesnt work delete and recreate. 9 times out of ten, shes apples...

the best mail program i have come across is Entourage, microsofts clone of outlook on the mac. why microsoft cant make outlook run like it's mac clone beggars my belief.

Outlook don't ya just love it

Outlook processes all rules for each email, mad ay?
So one email may fire off more than one rule if this is the case outlook gets confused and doesn't process the email properly.
    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz you asleep yet?

At the end of each MOVE rule add "stop processing more rules"
    It should sort it out.

Thanks blokes, I'll give it a go.
Already tried the stop processing rule but didn't seem to make much difference.

    Cheers
