    Path/File Error

Hows this for utilising the forum: An IT post about Land Rovers

Since getting a new laptop with Vista (nuf said) and then upgrading my Rovacom for my Td5 Disco to v1.18a I've been getting the following error which I have so far been unable to fix except by re-installing the software.

    Run-time error '75':
    Path/File access error

Now this little error is quite common if security is playing havoc with files and I suspect this is the case. I'm thinking that it's something to do with writing temporary files and some security thing in Vista ... but at this stage Vista's all a bit new.

I've posted on the Blackbox forum as well but was wondering if some of you may know Vista a bit better and any pointers to look for. (The installation tree has full access for Administrator and isn't set to read-only)

It does for administrator (group) and account is set to that (Vista Home Premium).

Wondering whether it might be part of UAC. Think I'll spend some time on MS KB.

    Derek,

Have you tried turning UAC off ?

Run msconfig, there is now a tools tab... two of the tools are 2 batchfiles to run that turn UAC on and off.

Might at least give you an idea if it is UAC interfering. (You'll need to reboot of course!)

I'll look into UAC today and see how it goes. Going to be an indoor day as it's bloody cold (23C) and wet and has been for the last 18 hours. I know you guys down south need the rain, but its saupposed to be the dry season up this way now!
