I just cant get over USB being so slow,,,,:eek:
may have something to do with your hardware and your antivirus software. disable the antivirus and see how much it speeds up, esp if you have scan compressed files turned on, heaps i bet.
both firewire and usb 2.0 are quicker on a mac, esp firewire, windows and linux for that matter get i/o bound on big files by comparison IME.
I have an external firewire hard disk, and can backup the whole computer in less than an hour (80GB). :) I have to do one again, I'll time it for you pedro :)Quote:
