problem with toshiba any ideas
Further to my eartlier post it seems it might be bios porblem, what is the chance. the keys are z a q 1 and backspace . have to wait up to ten seconds for key to work but once it starts it works normal. sometimes you can force it by holding key down and hitting the next letter required it then does both letters.
any ideas????????????

Are you running the latest BIOS if not update it
the other thing you could do to confirm a hardware vs software issue is download one of the operating systems that boots from a cd and run it if the problem still exists running say UBUNTU then you clearly have a hardware issue.

Seems you are not alone:

http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windo...d-Problem.html
http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windo...nt-workin.html
Just skimming through those sites says either a bios upgrade or a new keyboard should do the trick.
Maybe.
How old is the laptop?
At a certain point with this kind of mystery problem, unless you like
sorting them, it is almost easier on your time and sanity to go out and buy a $700 cheapie from Officeworks or whatever is the cheapest laptop shop near you.
Does an external keyboard have the same problem?
